Cracked & Damaged Bells

This is Soundweld’s core business and over a thirty-four year period, something in excess of 500 bells ranging from 3 lb. to 3.5 tons have been successfully repaired. All areas of the bell can be repaired including canons and clapper indents. The cost of a repair is around one quarter the cost of a recast. The geographical location of the bells welded to date covers most parts of England, Wales and Scotland. Bells have also been welded from Sweden and France. Click here for details

Mesh Baffle Assemblies: These units, made for Eltron Chromolox are made from stainless steel and consist of an outer ring covered by two separate projection welded meshes. When correctly aligned, a triangular passage through the unit is used to support heating elements. The external diameter of the units varies from 3“ to 48”. The units are used in the petrochemical and gas industry.

Steel Path Edging: Over the past 3 years The National Trust and Cambridge University Botanic Gardens have become interested in replacing the wooden edges that exist around their lawns, paths and flower beds with steel. The 6 m lengths of flat black steel are laid in trenches and welded together to provide a durable and neat edge that will last for approx. 40 years. Click here for details.

Hoes and Other Equipment: Soundweld has been pleased over the years to supply The National Trust and Cambridge University with equipment that is specially manufactured for their purposes. Often this has meant reproducing something from an old example that has been much used. This was the case with hoes. Both establishments wanted old style hoes which are difficult to obtain. We were able to reproduce just what they wanted.

Statue Covers: The National Trust has over the years been trying to find an efficient and easy to use way of covering their statues during the winter months. Some of these statues are many years old and need protection from the elements. Soundweld, working closely with members of the trust have developed a lightweight frame and covering that does just this.
