These bells from St Mary the Virgin Church are the Tenor and 3rd bells of 5. |
|
The Tenor bell was cast in 1625 and as a result of a poor casting had a large lead filled hole in the crown. This resulted in half of the crown having to be cut away and a new piece cast and welded in. The piece that was welded in measured 35“ around the circumference. |
